Our Children

Join us as we teach our children the God-given gifts of Christian love,
independent thinking, and the rightness of a challenging and inclusive
approach to faith. Our Sunday School begins at 9:30a.m. Younger children
gather in the Fellowship Hall and older students in the Student House.
They have conversation, do a bible lesson, and have a snack.
Periodically a class will be preparing to participate in Sunday
worship with a skit, a reading, or singing.
Our curriculum is called Seasons of the Spirit. It is ecumenical and
international, grounded in tradition and engaged in the present, and
envisions the future. The website is
www.spiritseasons.com. Our worship service is created from the
same curriculum designed for congregational life. Our children’s time
in worship often has the same focus as the Sunday School lesson.
Our Christian Education program works through our Spiritual Nurture and
Education Ministry Area (SNEMA). If you have questions, you can speak
with Pastor Kim Keethler Ball or a member of the SNEMA ministry area.
Nursery care is staffed by a consistent child-care provider
who is a loving adult. The nursery is available during Sunday School and
Worship. Also, childcare is provided during church program and business
meetings. The nursery is located on the ground floor of the church.
Field trips are also a regular part of the youth experience. They range from
attending OSU sporting events, to cultural and historical experiences,
and service projects. There is an occasional over-night opportunity like
spending the night in the church on a Saturday before an OSU football game.
The group meets regularly in the Student House that is behind the church.
