Sept 21 - Orlando Alston from BREAD to preach
Sept 28 - Pastor Adam Davis
September 21 UBC welcomes Orlando Alston, community organizer with BREAD (Building Responsibility, Equality, and Dignity) in Columbus, Ohio. With over 20 years of leadership and training experience, Orlando has dedicated his life to building relationships, mentoring young people, and advocating for justice. He has served as a school board member, co-founded S.W.A.G.T.E.A.M., a mentoring initiative for young men, and was a student leader at Virginia Commonwealth University. Today, he works with BREAD to unite congregations across Columbus in addressing the root causes of poverty, inequality, and violence, helping to build a stronger and more equitable community.
The Second Hour - Grace Underwood is our Second Hour Fall Coordinator. Grace may be reaching out to you to ask for some help. She’s looking to reinstate monthly “Family Meals” after worship in the narthex. If you’re unable to help, that’s fine. A healthy ‘no’ is always understood. Also, during the Second Hour on Sept 28, we’ll have a book discussion on The Year of Biblical Womanhood by Rachel Held Evans. There are 10 copies in the narthex this morning. You can feel free to grab one or purchase one at your leisure. Second Hour schedule at a glance is below:
Sept 14 / 21 - Designing Rocks / Walks with Rocks
Sept 28 - Year of Biblical Womanhood
Oct 5 - Family Meal and Grab a Plant Start from the UBC Gardens
Date Night Sitters at UBC - TBD
